In this blog post I want to tell you a little more about Satin!
Many people think of satin as a specific fabric, but here we want to address the misconception. Satin is actually a weaving technique, not a specific fiber. Did you know?!
And this weaving is done with different types of fabrics such as cotton, polyester, silk, cotton/polyester mixes, viscose and so on...
The technical aspect of weaving can be intimidating, but the results are stunning. The subtle sheen of natural satin fabrics and the ease of wrinkle-free polyester satin will change the way you look at clothing.
The advantage of natural satin is that it adapts to your body temperature and that it absorbs moisture well, making it very pleasant to wear.
Polyester satin has a big advantage, it hardly creases! This makes an item made of this fabric ideal for a top holiday! There are kimono, caftan, skirt, top and scarf that are made of these beautiful fabrics. Good polyester satin also wears wonderfully airy.
But almost every satin is easy to get wrinkle-free due to its binding. Hang your item neatly after washing and you don't have to do anything else to it. For a quick solution so that you don't have to wash, you can use a Dry Wash Spray. Spray this over a part of your kimono or kaftan that is wrinkled and rub it smooth with your hands. An added benefit is that your garment will smell wonderful again!
